Presentation for Sonic Central in June 2023 has been scheduled for this week.

The long-running brand starring the recognisable blue hedgehog, Sonic, will give fans a view into the near future with the 2023 Sonic Central, according to Sega. The next broadcast will be only the third such occasion held by Sega to date, following Sonic Central 2022.

Sega has put up a presentation specifically for Sonic that will showcase fresh perspectives on the newest Sonic-related games and media.

Despite being a relatively recent occurrence, Sonic Central has already established itself as the biggest annual gathering for news pertaining to Sonic. The best-selling 3D Sonic game of all time was revealed during the show’s first episode, along with more than a dozen other revelations. The programme from the previous year didn’t fall short either, providing more than 20 unexpected surprises in addition to a sneak glimpse at the Netflix-produced Sonic Prime and fresh information regarding Sonic Origins.

A celebratory announcement of some kind is definitely in the works for the forthcoming Sonic Central because the broadcast date falls on the 32nd anniversary of the original Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Genesis. Takashi Iizuka, the head of Sonic Team, had hinted that 2023 will be a big year for Sonic, but other than the launch of Sonic Superstars, little else has been said about the studio’s near-term ambitions for the franchise. It is therefore conceivable that everything will change as a result of the occurrence on June 23.

Some fans might also be hoping for an announcement of an Angry Birds and Sonic crossover at the 2023 Sonic Central in light of Sega’s impending purchase of Rovio. Even though the $776 million acquisition is anticipated to go through without any regulatory issues, it’s unlikely that Sega would publicly commit to a project involving any Rovio IP before the deal is finalised, assuming anything concrete is even in the works as of right now. As a result, the expectation is somewhat implausible.
